Community Cares Baskets
Community Cares Program provides basic household necessities to those entering transitional and affordable housing.
|
- What is a Community Cares Basket? It is literally a laundry basket filled with everything someone would need to set up house and restart their life. Imagine starting over with nothing. CRC helps by giving these individuals and families items like towels, shower curtains, dishes, cleaning supplies, blankets, and various other necessities.
- Where does CRC get the stuff for the baskets? CRC works with liquidation wholesalers to get the best deal on the items we provide. The cheaper we can get the products, the more agencies and people we can serve. We pay for these items with grant funding, donations, and income from our two annual fundraisers, Oyster Easter and the Fab Four Festival.
- How do we find the individuals and families in need? CRC works with other non-profit agencies to meet the needs of their clients. This includes agencies like Catholic Charities and World Relief who provide refugee resettlement services to those fleeing genocide, famine, and war, as well as agencies which serve the homeless and underprivileged.
