Welcome to the Community Resource Center
the lifeline for middle Tennessee non-profits

Who are we? If a child needs a soft new blanket, we've got it. If a mother of four fleeing domestic violence needs kitchenware to feed her family, we provide the pots, pans, and plates. Teddy bear to chase away the monsters in the closet? We've got that, too.

The Community Resource Center (CRC) provides basic household necessities to nonprofit agencies and those in desperate need. We serve more than 100 nonprofit agencies in 20 Middle Tennessee counties.

Our Mission and Goals

The Community Resource Center provides household goods, furniture, and appliances to people in desperate need.

CRC Goals

  • To provide new household merchandise such as bedding, household goods and personal hygiene supplies to those who cannot otherwise afford them.
  • To facilitate the donation of furniture and appliances from the corporate world to nonprofit agencies.
  • To raise public awareness about non-profit needs and promote the donation of in-kind goods and volunteer resources to meet those needs.

CRC Spotlight
Publix Supermarket Charities

This month’s giveaway is sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities, the philanthropic arm of the grocery chain Publix. Publix was founded in 1930 in Winter Haven, Florida, by George W. Jenkins. It has grown to more than 1,000 stores and is one of the fastest growing employee-owned companies in the nation.

Publix is known for its philosophy of pleasing the customer and if you’ve ever been in a Publix in Tennessee you will see that philosophy carried out every day. Its “buy one, get one free” specials, its 1-cent bargains and the store’s willingness to split Publix-brand packages (no more 10 buns for an 8-pack of hotdogs!) are routine.  So are the friendly smiles and prompt service.

The Community Resource Center thanks Publix Supermarket Charities for its ongoing support of Supply Central, serving more than 70 Middle Tennessee nonprofits with new basic household necessities.
